Their Mapo tofu blew me away! It’s an unlikely dish to order in a Japanese restaurant as it’s Chinese, but I may have seen a photo of it and it looked good, the actual food far exceeded my expectations. It’s perhaps as good as you’ll get in China! I ate in this restaurant last Oct, but a friend happens to be in Bristol now so also gave this dish a try and it lived up to my hype! If you are yearning to try some signature Chinese dish, do give it a go. I’ll give it a thumbs up in a Chinese phrase - 吐血推荐: so good, it’s worth spitting blood to recommend!

Obento has the best salmon I’ve ever had in Bristol! The sushi is also incredibly delicious, with fresh flavors in every bite. The staff and owner are super friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like coming home. I’ve recommended this place to many friends, and they all loved it too! Highly recommend!

The sushi in this Japanese restaurant is definitely my favorite recently! The sashimi is so fresh that it seems you can taste the sweetness of the ocean. The salmon belly is rich in fat and the sweet shrimp is soft, glutinous and sweet. It's simply amazing! The chef's craftsmanship and dedication can be felt in every piece of sushi, and the presentation is as exquisite as a work of art. I will repurchase it indefinitely! Ice cream desserts have become a masterpiece! After having sushi, I casually ordered a dessert and was immediately charmed by it! The ice cream and mochi have a smooth and rich texture, with a moderate sweetness that is not greasy. You can also taste the fine nuts. I heard that the ingredients were flown in from Japan. No wonder the taste is so pure. Next time, I'll come here especially for ice cream!

obento sashimi quality never disappoints! their chirashi don is a must try, fresh slices of assorted sashimi which are buttery and delicious. comes with generous amounts of tobikko and ikura as well. my only qualm with them is i ordered the sashimi bento a while ago (same price as the chirashi don) and it was absolutely not worth the money. it came with 8 slices of sashimi and rice. for the same money you can get the chirashi don where you can get double the amount of sashimi! (and double the flavour) so please don’t order that and make the same mistake
